Baby You're a Firework!

This Fourth of July was much more low-key for us than usual, but it was a great day and I still got to see a great fireworks show and spend some time with the hubby! It was my first time going to Haysville for the fourth, and when we pulled up we saw a soccer field littered with every type of firework you could imagine. That's when I knew we were in for a good time! So Jason and I plopped ourselves down right next to it and made ourselves comfortable, all the while priding ourselves on finding the perfect location! Right when I had my camera and tripod right where I wanted it, a friendly security guard came and told us we'd have to back up waaaaaaaay far away and relocate behind a fence because we were in the "fallout" zone. I was bummed, but honestly it's good to know he cared about our safety. So away we went, and we found a decent spot. And just as I predicted, the show was awesome!

Carson Part Two

I also wanted to share more of Carson's story. A little over six years ago he was born at 24 weeks old, weighing 1 lb 6 oz and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, spending a total of 118 days in NICU. Carson's family has been very involved with the March of Dimes, an organization that raises funds for research and technology to save prematurely-born babies' lives with the goal that one day every baby will be born healthy.

It was such a great opportunity to work with Carson and his family! A big thank you goes out to his mom Shelly for giving me the information to write this post!

We even had an encounter with some of the native wildlife!

Happy Independence Day!

Hope everyone is enjoying the Fourth of July! In the spirit of Independence Day I wanted to share a military homecoming session I did back in May, which happens to be of my sister and brother-in-law! A lot of you know that my sister was diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma while Rene (her husband) was deployed overseas. They are an incredible couple and I admire their strength everyday.
